What We Do

Transforming Lives Through Education

At African Kids Education Matters (AkEM), we aim to identify talented and gifted children in underprivileged African communities who lack access to quality education. Our mission is to provide these children with the support they need to reach their full potential. We believe that early identification and the right education, coupled with training in 21st-century skills, can prepare these gifted children to make a global impact and play a crucial role in reducing poverty and illiteracy in Africa.

How We Do It

Our History

The African Kids' Education Matters Foundation

Guided by the mission of supporting talented and underprivileged African children, African Kids Education Matters is dedicated to improving African education. Since its inception, AKEM has collaborated with numerous organizations supporting children, families, and communities. The President, Board of Directors, volunteers, and staff of the AKEM Foundation have played crucial roles in this effort, channeling resources and expertise into educational initiatives.

Since 2022, AKEM has extended its reach by assisting similar organizations, amplifying its impact, and ensuring that more children receive the education they deserve. AKEM's comprehensive approach includes funding school infrastructure, offering scholarships, supplying educational materials, and promoting STEM education, music, and entrepreneurship. Through these efforts, AKEM is committed to fostering a brighter future for Africa's youth, empowering them to become key players in reducing poverty and illiteracy across the continent.
